Tiffany Birt is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who has been working in the mental health field since 2012. She received her Masters Degree from Liberty University in 2016 in Human Services Counseling with a specialization in Crisis and Trauma and received her Masters Degree from Liberty University in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020.
Tiffany has worked in multiple mental health settings including: The Department of Public Safety as a Behavioral Specialist in the Therapeutic Diversion Unit where she ran groups based on multiple therapeutic models, she has experience as a panelist for Bipolar Disorder in Chapel Hill and volunteered with NAMI as a CIT training advocate, as well as guest speaking for NAMI’s Gala. Tiffany Interned with Perkins during her last year of her studies and found her passion in working with adolescents, teens, adults and families and treating anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-esteem issues, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, suicidal ideation, and other behavioral/relational/environmental issues that may be preventing individuals and families from reaching their full potential.
Although Tiffany has deep roots in Attachment theory, she has an eclectic style of conducting therapeutic services including: CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, REBT, Mindfulness, EFT and Experiential Therapy. She enjoys getting to know her clients and bases her interventions on what their needs seem to be. Tiffany practices from a person-centered perspective and believes each client has the strengths and capability of improving their lifestyle. Tiffany enjoys walking through the valley with her clients and believes that each day is a new opportunity for change and growth. She focuses on client strengths and weaknesses as part of the therapeutic process and works to let each of her clients see their full potential. She is honored to be a part of her client’s lives.
Tiffany was born in Bronx, New York and moved to North Carolina when she was 21 years old after finishing her undergraduate studies to be closer to her family. Here is where she met her husband and started to build roots for her own family. Tiffany and her husband have two daughters. In her free time, Tiffany enjoys reading, music, event planning, yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, and spending time with her family and friends. Tiffany is known for her creativity, empathetic and energetic personality, and passion for helping others.
