Stephanie Carr is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who has been working in the mental health field for the last 3 years. She graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2020 with her Masters of Counseling. Her degree program allowed for the integration of a theological education in tandem with her counseling training.
Stephanie spent two years as an intern in a hospice while completing her degree. During her internship, she worked alongside grieving families and children, periodically checking in with them throughout the grieving process and providing them with the skills and tools to cope with their loss. After graduating, Stephanie spent a year working in an in-patient psychiatric hospital where she provided counseling to children and adults in crisis. Stephanie enjoys working with pediatric clients and has experience in crisis stabilization, grief counseling, ADHD, anxiety, behavioral/relational/emotional issues, and suicidal thoughts.
When it comes to counseling, Stephanie’s desire is to create a safe place for her clients to heal, grow, and process their emotions. Her goal is to aid her clients by providing them with the tools they need to regulate their emotions and express them in a way that does not hurt themselves or others.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys trying new restaurants, drinking coffee, traveling, and kayaking with her husband. She is thrilled to be part of the team at Perkins and is excited to meet everyone on the team!
