Linda Horn is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Supervisor and National Certified Counselor. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Humanities and Fine Art. After a career in art, she began studying clinical counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary and received a MA in Counseling in 2000.

Linda has over 17 years of mental health experience working with adolescents, adults and families. Much of Linda’s experience includes Community Mental Health and private practice where she worked with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and trauma. In addition, she has worked with families who are struggling with addiction, conflict resolution, divorce, families whose children have been in foster care or are preparing for adoption, and those who have terminal illnesses, and bereavement.

Linda has a special connection and interest in working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma and struggle to heal from adverse childhood experiences. With compassion and affirmation, she walks alongside individuals so that each becomes more empowered to reach the best possible outcomes. It is also important in the counseling relationship that counselors earn the right to challenge in a way that facilitates growth. The counselor-client relationship is a working relationship.

How we think, feel and behave are interwoven, and we are in a constant struggle to make sense of our world. Most often an eclectic approach is best suited for the client, and so the approach is always centered on the needs of the client. In the first few meetings a plan will be developed, and this plan may be adjusted along the way. Client-centered plans may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Therapy, or Christian-based Counseling. When there are many roads we often need to choose a better road. Sometimes the answer is clear. Sometime it is not so clear, but in the counseling relationship we will sort it out together using principles that are evidence-based.

Linda is the mother of three grown children, and grandmother to seven grandsons and four granddaughters. She loves family, art, photography, travel, and reading.
