Jearilyn Singleton is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Services from UNC – Greensboro, her master’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations from East Carolina University, and a second master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University. She has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, and their families in various capacities. Her clinical work has allowed her to work in a variety of settings to provide services in the office, in the school setting, in the home, and in the detention center.

Jearilyn’s experience as a clinician has taught her that building trust, fostering therapeutic relationships, and creating a team environment is what is most important. She believes that people and families possess the tools they need to address and manage their challenges and that her role as a therapist is to assist people with unlocking those tools and teach them how to use those tools in a manner that makes sense for their life and their situation.

Jearilyn specializes in addressing the following areas: depression, anxiety, substance abuse, anger management, stress management, issues surrounding employment, and familial issues (parenting, marital conflict, separation, divorce, parent-child conflict, etc.). She works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She describes her approach as strengths-based, goal-oriented, and client-centered. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy therapeutic modalities.

Jearilyn is known for her laugh, smile, and her ability to connect with people on a genuine level. She believes in the importance of people being their healthiest selves to live their most fulfilling life.

Jearilyn was born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She loves to travel, spend time with friends and family, dance, write poetry, watch movies, and cuddle on the couch with her fur baby.
