Emily Baggett is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern finishing her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at Belmont Abbey University just outside Charlotte, NC. Emily is working under the supervision of Areinia Adams,LMFT at Perkins Counseling & Psychological Services. After completing her degree, Emily plans to continue in private practice.
Emily believes that taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health. She works from a strengths based, person-centered approach with an emphasis on the individual in the context of their relationships, environment, and story. Some of Emily’s areas of psychological focus include perinatal mood disorders for women and men, premarital counseling and navigating stage of life transitions for people of all ages. Emily believes one of the most important aspects of therapy is that her clients feel safe and know they are in a non-judgmental space.
When she is not working, Emily enjoys crafting of all kinds, including sewing and woodworking. She finds herself outdoors often with her husband, and two young children teaching them to enjoy nature. Emily also enjoys reading fiction, playing tabletop games and video games.
