Dr. Susannah Scearce earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of North Texas. Dr. Scearce helps parents better understand and advocate for their children through the use of comprehensive psychological assessment. A psychological assessment answers important questions you may have about yourself or your child and leads to tailored recommendations to help you or your child achieve success.
Dr. Scearce also has extensive experience conducting individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. She works within a humanistic or client-centered orientation, appreciating clients as inherently capable of growth and holding the power of choice and responsibility. Dr. Scearce conducts child-centered play therapy with children, and she incorporates cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness strategies in her therapeutic work with adolescents and adults. Dr. Scearce’s expertise is in post-traumatic stress disorder. Her skills suit her to work with children experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulty adjusting to changes, and behavioral issues.
After attending graduate school in Denton, Texas and completing her doctoral internship in Miami, Florida, Dr. Scearce is thrilled to return to North Carolina. She grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina where she now resides with her husband and their energetic dog. She enjoys running, painting, cooking, and spending time with family. Above all, she considers herself immensely privileged to be an agent in the process of growth that she witnesses with her clients.
