Don Wiggins is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Masters degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to becoming a Counselor, Don was a Landscape Architect with degrees from Cornell University and University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Don is a seasoned “life veteran” who has gone through a recovery from divorce, raising two sons on his own, as well as a number of other life struggles and trials. The personal changes required in his life from these situations have helped Don understand firsthand how the counseling process can bring about positive effectual movements away from difficult experiences. Don’s passion to come along side others in the capacity of a professional counselor is an outgrowth of his transformational change that occurred from his counseling experience.
In particular, Don loves providing a safe space where clients can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors as they move toward resolving the issues bringing them into counseling. Don understands that each person is unique, so the counseling process is designed to fit what is comfortable and beneficial for each client.
Don’s focus and training is with those experiencing distress, depression, anxiety, and life adjustments like divorce, grief, parenting and attachment related circumstances. Working with couples in their relationships has been of particular interest to Don as a result of his 15 years of ministry work to the separated, divorced and couples in conflict.
When Don is not counseling, he is enjoying the experiences of being a grandfather. Don’s youngest son and daughter-in-law had their first son last year, and Don is learning that being the grandparent has many particular advantages which he is enthusiastically taking advantage of.
