Dorie Allen earned her Master’s degree in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has been licensed by the North Carolina Psychology Board as a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) since 1996. She has over 10 years experience providing psychological and educational assessments in public school systems as well as private practice. Ms. Allen works with children and adults, ages 3 and up. She provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for learning difficulties, attention disorders and a wide range of mental health conditions.
Ms. Allen began her career providing counseling and psychological evaluations in the NC Department of Corrections. She went on to work in public and private mental health settings, providing counseling and psychological testing. She has primarily focused on psychological assessments in the past 10 years.
Ms. Allen lives in Wake Forest with her husband and two children. As the parent of two high school students, she is familiar with the process of navigating the school system to access support and services for children. She enjoys walking, Pilates and yoga in her free time. The family also enjoys fostering dogs to their forever homes through a local rescue group.
